Day 1
Töreboda – Sjötorp – Töreboda (40 km)
Your cycling holiday at the Göta Canal begins in Töreboda where you pick up your bike and start the journey along the canal's classic towpaths.
The first stage takes you approximately 40 kilometers from Töreboda to Sjötorp and back to Töreboda, one of the most scenic stretches along the canal. The route follows the canal's waters on quiet, car-free gravel roads, making cycling both safe and relaxing.
During the tour you will pass 19 historic locks at Göta Canal, where you can stop and watch pleasure boats and canal boats being locked between the levels. Cycling along the locks is a unique experience that makes this cycling holiday something very special.
When you reach Sjötorp, you will be greeted by a lively marina and a lovely summer atmosphere on the shores of Lake Vänern.
Day 1 in brief

Day 2
Boat trip on the Göta Canal with M/S Bellevue
A cycling holiday along the Göta Canal is not complete without also experiencing the canal from the water.
This day you will board the passenger boat M / S Bellevue i Töreboda for a 5-hour canal cruise.
During the journey, the boat passes 19 locks while you learn more about the history of the canal and how this impressive structure was created in the early 1800th century.
Traveling through the locks from a boat deck is one of the most classic experiences on the Göta Canal – Sweden's blue ribbon.
Day 2 in brief
Boat: M / S Bellevue

Day 3
Töreboda – Tåtorp – Töreboda (34 km)
After breakfast, another wonderful cycling day awaits along Göta CanalToday's goal is Tåtorp – one of the canal's most historic places.
Here is a hand-operated lock from 1814, where the lock gates are still opened by hand just like when the canal was built.
Along the way you will pass picturesque stops such as Wassbacken and the island Land height – perfect places for a coffee or a break by the water.
Day 3 in brief
Distance: about 34 km
Terrain: Easy cycling along the canal
Attractions: Tåtorp lock, Wassbacken
Lunch: Along the canal
Evening: Dinner and overnight stay in Töreboda

Day 4
Excursion to Kinnekulle by train
After a few days by the canal, a new landscape awaits. You cycle to Lyrestad and take the train on to Hällekis.
Here is the scenic area Chin cool – often called the blooming mountain. The area is known for its flower meadows, historic mansions and fantastic views of Lake Vänern.
During the day you cycle through the rolling landscape and stop for lunch at the charming Hällekis Säteri.
Day 4 in brief
Cycling: Töreboda – Lyrestad (8 km
Train: Kinnekulle train to Hällekis
Excursion: Cycling on Chin cool
Lunch: Hällekis Farm
Evening: Dinner and overnight stay in Töreboda

Day 5
Töreboda
After a few days filled with cycling, locks, good food and summer experiences along the Göta Canal The trip ends with a quiet morning in Töreboda.
