DAY 1: Motala – Borensberg – Ljungsbro 20 km cycling distance

Go on one unforgettable summer adventure along the historical Göta Canal with M/S Kung Sverker! At 10.30 the boat departs from Port of Motala for two hour boat ride at 5 knots through scenic areas and charming canal villages. Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and the fantastic view of the Göta canal and the lake Boren.

At Borensberg (at 12.30) the bikes are waiting for you at The coffee shop, and here you can enjoy a delicious Prawn sandwich that the owner Jonas has composed. After the visit to Jonas, you cycle the car-free one the towpath längste Göta Canal. Discover the calm atmosphere and see the impressive Berg's locks, with its seven majestic locks on Lake Roxen – a spectacular sight not to be missed.

Cycle route: 20 km – Easy and relaxing cycling on full car-free dirt road along the Göta canal.

Check in at Ljungsbro hostel, where you can relax in relaxation department, bubble in Jacuzzi or take a dip in the swimming pool. In the evening, a tasty dinner is served at Berg's locks, just 3 km from the hostel.

 

 

DAY 2: Ljungsbro – Borensberg – Motala

On day two, your summer adventure continues! Cycle back another 20 km Borensberg and experience the unique feeling of being close Göta Canal and the beautiful nature around.

From Borensberg at 13.10, you board M/S Kung Sverker for one two hour boat ride back to Motala. Enjoy a relaxing boat trip while you experience the fascinating the sluice and the impressive ones the viaducts which adorns the path of the canal.

The boat will take you by Borenshult, where you see the channel's steepest lock stairs - one of the most exciting parts of the Göta canal. During the boat trip, you enjoy a lunch on board while the boat glides along on the calm Lake Boren and Göta Canal.

Cycle route: 20 km – Easy cycling along the car-free route the dirt road at the Göta canal.

Return to Motala, the capital of the Göta canal, approx. 15.30 – a perfect end to your adventure.
