5-Day Cycling Holiday Along the Göta Canal - Experience Historic Places and Scenic Landscapes

Day 1: Töreboda – Sjötorp – Töreboda (40 km)
Start your cycling holiday along the Göta Canal in Töreboda – the perfect starting point for train travelers.
Cycle on car-free towpaths along the canal, past 19 impressive locks, to Sjötorp on Lake Vänern.
Lunch awaits you at Restaurang Perssons i Backen, before you cycle back to Pensionat Prästgården in Töreboda for an overnight stay.

Terrain: Very light, flat and child-friendly.

Day 2: Töreboda – Karlsborg (55 km)
After breakfast you continue towards Karlsborg by Lake Vättern.
Cycle past Lanthöjden, Tåtorp with its hand-operated lock, and Forsvik, Sweden's first industrial town.
In Karlsborg you check in at Hotell Rödesund and can participate in a guided tour of Karlsborg Fortress.

Terrain: Easy–medium, some short hills.

Day 3: Motala – Borensberg – Bergs locks (18 km + boat)
A day full of contrasts with both cycling and a boat trip!
After shared transport to Motala, you cycle along Motalaström to Borensberg, where you board the M/S Vasa Lejon.
The journey goes over the aqueduct in Ljungsbro and ends at Bergs locks, where you have dinner at Malfors Café and spend the night at Ljungsbro Leisure Center.

Day 4: Ljungsbro – Bergs Slussar – Norsholm – Söderköping (25 km + boat)

Arrival in Söderköping, a historic small town with cobblestone streets and filming locations from Madicken.
