After that, a lovely bike ride along the Göta canal, where we recommend that you cycle towards lake AsplångenThe road there offers several beautiful lock environments and classic canal idyll – perfect for photo lovers and nature lovers.
After a day of cycling, you return to Söderköping and check into your accommodation at the historic The dock, a place where history and tranquility meet. A good night's sleep awaits you in charming surroundings.
The next morning, at 11:00, the classic train departs the canal boat M/S Athene from the canal harbor in Söderköping. You follow The first stretch of the Göta Canal all the way out to the lock in Mem, where the canal was once inaugurated in 1832. It will be a three-hour journey on Sweden's blue ribbon, lined with beautiful views, history and the quiet rhythm of sluicing.
